Book Rating: 4.5/5
This is the last book I bought in 2018 and the first one I read in 2019. I certainly started the year with a boom.
What If It’s Us was written by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli. I had never read anything by Adam Silvera, but I’ve read every single book of Becky Albertalli, which is why I decided to buy this one. The story goes around Ben and Arthur, two guys that meet by chance in New York and there is a spark. Sadly, after that small encounter none of them have a way to contact the other, so they’re left wondering how to find each other again.
The book is much more than that, but I don’t wanna give away too many details in case someone has not read it. I am just going to say this: Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions.
I was not expecting for the book to hit me as hard as it did. But man! I cried for like five different chapters (or more!). It was just really emotional! I don’t know if it was that good or I was just reflecting too much of my personal life into the book. Whatever the reason, it tugged at my heart and I couldn’t handle it…in the best way possible!
The book was really good! It was quirky and funny in some parts, but also serious and thoughtful in others. It was a great balance to have. It was not just a romantic novel. It was about growth and emotional stability. It was stunningly written and I enjoyed every part of it.
