Hello everyone!
I was in the mood for doing a book tag, and I found this one super fun! So here are my answers to the book blogger confessions tag!
1. Which book, most recently, did you not finish?
My most recent DNF was Ariadne by Jennifer Saint.
It wasn’t that the book was bad! I actually thought it was really nice at first, but the more I read the more predictable it all became. I’m sure it is due to how much I know about the myth of Ariadne, and Asterion, and Theseus.
I love retellings, but I also love being surprised by them. A retelling should still feel innovative even if the reader already knows the original story. Unfortunately, Ariadne did not do that for me so I moved on.
2. Which book is your guilty pleasure?
I don’t know if guilty pleasure is the exact word for it…but I would have to say Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
I’ve read that book so many times I lost count! I read it when I feel sad and happy, or when I’m just bored haha.
3. Which book do you love to hate?
I loooooove hating on Twilight haha!
So, I never actually read the books, but there’s just something about them that never caught my attention. I especially get a kick out of hating on it because my best friend loves those books and we’re always teasing each other about that.
I do want to make it clear that I don’t have anything against those who love Twilight. Everyone has different tastes and if you love those books, good for you!
4. Which book would you throw into the sea?
Hmmmm…good question.
I actually have no idea. The only one that comes to my mind is The Cruel Prince by Holly Black because it was a huge disappointment for me. A lot of people I know loved it and the only reason I finished it was out of spite haha!
5. Which book have you read the most?
Again, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
I’ve lost count, seriously!
I have three different editions of the book because of how much I love that book. I do know that, for sure, I’ve read that book at least once a year since I got it.
6. Which book would you hate to receive as a present?
…Twilight
7. Which book could you not live without?
Uuffff….a lot of them!
But definitely Six of Crows by Leight Bardugo. I love that book so much! It is, honest to God, one of the best books I’ve read in years. I love everything about it and Crooked Kingdom.
8. Which book made you the angriest?
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab…I didn’t enjoy the book at all.
I was super excited about it and I got so angry when it was a huge letdown for me!
9. Which book made you cry the most?
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness!
That book had me sobbing the whole time.
I grabbed it because it was short and it looked cute and I thought it would be a nice easy read..but it turns out that book completely destroyed me!!!
It became one of my favorite books haha!
10. Which book cover do you hate the most?
Okay…I really dislike the book cover of A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas.
I just hate the colors, the design is weird…and I hate that it doesn’t go with the rest of the ACOTAR series. It looks so different next to my other books and I really hate that.
